MLB teams have now effectively stripped all the talent from FG that made it great. Unfortunately, they replaced all the talent with fluff writers.

In an odd turn of events, then only thing that site will be good for now (other than a stat respository) is prospect content, which was what they were worst at a few years ago.

I gotta say, I'm still salty over the Simmons deal, regardless of what happens with Newk. There was zero reason to trade him short of a big overpay. He was a generational defender on a super cheap deal and the bat clearly had some upside as he's shown the last 2 seasons.

Yup. Had we kept him, we'd potentially have 4 players who could put up 5+ WAR in 2019, which is insane.

versatility and great depth at a potential bargain was my reasoning.

Really makes you question even further whether there's ANY money. $4+ million of that for 2019 would've been covered by ditching Duvall and Culberson (which also would've created 40-Man Roster space to add Riley whenever he's called up).
