I think I agree with you, generally; but I have reason to believe that pointing out that Bowman is both a bad writer of sentences and a less-than-insightful observer of the team he covers isn’t out-of-bounds.

I agree. Personal attacks are usually used to make the person feel like the bigger man. But, in this case, it’s futile.
