you really going to complain when he’s the dude likely replacing Duvall?

He can't hit lefties so not a real replacement for a righty who hits lefties best. But he did have 25 homers in 2017, 24 vs righties. He was great vs righties that year and terrible vs lefties as usual.

Joyce makes zero sense as a Duvall replacement. He makes sense as a “stash in AAA guy”, or extra PH off the bench.

The Braves still need to replace Duvall with a better RHH 4th OFer.

Atlanta is also likely to add veteran pitching to a staff that could include five rookies, including starters Max Fried, Kyle Wright, and Touki Toussaint and relievers Bryce Wilson and Wes Parsons.

The team has been courting lefthanded sinkerballer Dallas Keuchel, the erstwhile Astros ace who once won a Cy Young Award, and closer Craig Kimbrel, who was National League of the Year when he broke in with the Braves in 2011. The latter has a lifetime earned run average of 1.91 and a career average of 14.7 strikeouts per nine innings.

Would be nice but not getting hopes up.

When I’m looking for MLB transaction scoops, the first place I look is Forbes.
