he's probably not going to hit .424 during the season.
Of course he'll improve with experience.

Strasburg, Stanton, Montero, Matusz, Posey, Jennings, Alvarez, Feliz, and Santana rounded out the 2010 top 10, 2009 was a relatively weak class with Wieters, Price, Rasmus, Hanson, Snider, Anderson, Maybin, Bumgarner, and Feliz rounding it out.
Of course you can look at the list and laugh because Montero, Matusz, Jennings, Alvarez, and Feliz never really shook out. But that's the risk with prospects. Sometimes things derail their career. Heyward was on his way to an amazing career before his horrific face injury. Honestly, if the worst case for Acuna is to have the same value as Heyward, I would flip my ****. On his rookie contract (which will likely be 1 year shorter than Acuna's) Heyward compiled about a 28 fWAR. If we get that from Acuna everyone should be so happy.
Heyward was an all time prospect and followed it up by having one of the best age 20 seasons in history. Not everything needs to be a slight on jhey
The rookie year was nice, but everything since was the overly-exaggerated greatness that did not follow.
You're right because his 23 fWAR in the following 5 seasons just isn't that good.
Good or not good, does anybody honestly believe Theo doesn't wish he had that contract back???

Heyward was the number 1 prospect at 20, Acuna the number 1 at 20. There is a bit of a difference between the 2 of them, but both were incredibly high rated prospects. Heyward was a legit 5 tool prospect.
Difference was the year before top. 2017 he was 67 on BA and 31 on BP. Conversely though Heyward in 08 was 28 and 36 respectively. 2009 he was 5 and 10 and then 2010 he was 1 and 2.
It's more so the eye test.
Acuna looks like a HOF level player, he just makes the game look so easy for someone his age.
why?
Good or not good, does anybody honestly believe Theo doesn't wish he had that contract back???
Ok. Is anybody going to argue against that? Heyward was an uber prospect that generated 28 WAR in his pre-FA years. We should be ecstatic if Acuna or anyone else is a 4-5 WAR player in their pre-FA days in Atlanta.
Because the discussion isn’t regarding Heyward as a Cub. It was from the beginning up until clv’s post about he as a prospect and early career. The only point to bringing up the contract is to rile up JHey stans, hence me calling that post trolling.
I’m genuinely eager to see what rationale the Braves cite. Like, I’m sincerely looking forward to it.
