As long as he comes cheap. It kind of goes against what AA preaches but I'm intrigued. Maybe we play Murphy at 1B and send Freddie back to third or move Ozzie to 3B for the stretch run and live with Murphy's atrocious defense at 2B for six weeks (plus hopefully).

Based on the recent roster moves made by the Braves, I think there’s a pretty good chance they won the claim on him.

If AA was willing to put Bautista’s glove at 3b, it’s not a stretch for him to be ok with Murphy’s glove at 3b.

He should cost very little other than money.

Duda cleared waivers. He also makes some sense as a LHH bench bat.

The Braves need to get someone who is a MLB caliber hitter from the left side. At this point it doesn’t matter if the guy even owns a mitt.

So...Matt Adams?

This was a mistake bc we didn’t think we would be good. Comargo acuna Culbertson and albies versatility mean we should be able to carry a bat only player

Adams has done damage with the bat for sure. Guys got pop off the bench, and that we don't have a ton of, if you consider Charlie Hustle a semi regular.
 
Justin Smoak passed through waivers...not as good as he was last season, but still really solid. I know the Braves don't need a 1st basemen, but seems he would be a solid bench option (who can hit both ways pretty good).
 
There are several LHHs out there who would fit nicely on the Braves bench.

AA needs to get one. It doesn't really matter where he plays at this point.

I expect to read about a LHH acquired via trade replacing Wilson on the roster by this afternoon.

I will enjoy my 12 pack of natty light and when that runs out I can just piss in a few cans and get another sixer no problem.
 
How funny would it be if Harper made it to Atlanta and won his ring here. I mean exactly how many gnats fan would jump in the Potomac river.

I am not dreaming on Harper to Atlanta crap. Just struck me as funny that “where’s my ring bro” could get that ring in another city this year when the gNats were supposed to cruise into the playoffs.
 
It's getting to be about the time where the Braves have to make the Wilson-for-position-player swap on the 25 man roster.

If we see someone like Rio picked up from AAA we can probably close the book on Murphy. The good news is Murphy is almost certainly in DC right now, so he can be in Pitt quickly.

I bet the AAA guy who represents the contingency plan is already in Pitt just in case.
