2018 Trade Deadline ROSTERBATION

With respect to #2, I'm starting to think it would make sense to include Riley in our offer. I know you don't rate Camargo. But he's played 163 games and been a 3 WAR play over that span. I think he is still improving.

Riley has nowhere near the value of Swanson/Albies/Acuna. His inclusion in a trade should not be a non-starter like it was for the other 3 guys.

That's a difference now compared to previous "get a TOR pitcher" blabber of years past.

Entering 2015, #stlcards had five outfield prospects that we ranked in the Top 15 for Baseball America's top 30.

3. Piscotty
4. Grichuk
9. Tilson
10. Sierra
15. Pham

All have been in the majors this season. All now traded by #Cardinals. #MLB

Prospects are fickle... go for the sure thing, AA.

The Cardinals are a mess right now. One of the more stable organizations in the game.

Is his value higher? Right now he's coming off injury and fatness concerns...just like when the Braves acquired him.

I think he was in single A when the Braves acquired him and he's since had a solid MLB debut as proof of concept. I think he'd have to be be more valuable now.

Crazy theory. We were pursuing Harvey as a backup to Archer. The more recent news is that we're not likely for Harvey. This being due to us being confident we're getting Archer.

If Allard goes to TB, who pitches tonight? Move Sanchez up to his regular spot? Archer takes the ball tomorrow on regular rest?

I just realized the other possible reason for the Wilson move, preparing for Touki to MLB after one or two more days.

Bowman said it was possible he would be up this week to come out of the pen...

Honestly I’m okay with that. Now that Wisler and Simms are gone we can see what we have in some of these guys

True. But I'm saying some teams might prefer Riley than say Anderson as the main piece.

I would offer Tampa this:

1) Choice of Riley or Anderson
2) Choice of Fried or Touki
3) A third guy on the order of Cumberland

I would make the same offer to the Blue Jays for both Stroman and Solarte.

I would tell both that this is my final offer. I would let them both know I've made a similar offer to another team and that the first one to accept gets the deal. It is an overpay on both scores, but the normal amount for this kind of deal at the deadline.

I would prefer Stroman and Solarte to Archer for the same price.

With the Rays taking so long to trade Archer today I wonder if the offers coming in are considerably less than what they anticipated.

Starting rotation when Allard goes back down (if no one traded).

Toussaint
Wright
Allard
Gohara
Parsons

That's 5 sir without factoring Bryse Wilson in. Although I was originally thinking that they'd simply bump Sims and Wisler from the rotation, and as Parsons is a non prospect, they might simply bump him, but Wilson to AAA could indicate another move coming since while he's dominated lately, he's 20 and there shouldn't be a rush.

I don't think you would promote Wilson BECAUSE you just had a AAA spot open.

That doesn't make much sense to me.

Granted it doesn't make much sense to me to promote him at all so what do I know.

Braves have finally made their decision on Wisler and Sims. Seems reasonable they would transition Parsons to whatever realistic role that he might have left be to play. He certainly doesn't look like someone who will ever pitch in the Atlanta rotation.

oh yeah, and I hard forgotten it was likely Touki might be headed up or getting bullpen work. Bullpen might be destination for Wilson for that matter.

If the Pirates get Archer, I will laugh, be pissed and laugh more.

If the Pirates offer Keller there isn't anything the Braves can do. Pirates simply won.

If the Pirates get Archer without giving up Keller, then AA didn't want him as badly as some reports suggest.

I have to imagine so. Archer certainly isn't doing them any favors pitching more like a mid rotation starter than an ace. And it's clear from comments that at least some GMs likely don't value him as more than a good mid rotation pitcher.

Word is the Harvey market has slowed as teams are waiting to find out if they can land Archer...

Also Crasnick is reporting the Os are on the verge of making another trade
