2019 MLB Draft Thread

Well, it is Shea. We do need a catcher though, system is barren there.

Well...

The Braves got the bat they like. Not my favorite, but at least it's a bat. Video appears to indicate he will be a great framer.

Now my hope is one of Manoah/Priester/Allan/Rutledge fall to 21.

Not a great endorsement of contreras if we used a hugh first round pick on a catcher.

Dan O'Dowd just said there might have been guys available with more upside, which I think is the most critical thing anyone on this broadcast has said all night.

I mean, I don't really put much weight on what Dan O'Dowd says, to be sure.

Guy from MLB Network just said that Langeliers comes in and is automatically the best catcher in our system.

Haha... why does everyone hate Langeliers?

It seems a lot of folks don't like the bat, and see him as a defense only catcher...possibly a backup.

Others think the hamate injury was affecting him quite a bit, and he's going to hit more than his detractors think.

Me? As long as it was a position player I can't complain too much. Hoping to see an impact arm at 21.

IF he's a legit elite framer (which I think he is given our FO seems to prioritize this), then he doesn't have hit a lot to be a great player.
