2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

I still think we trade for a late inning reliever and one with control. Our 2020 under contract pen is looking like Jackson, Minter, and Webb right now. I'm thinking Newk either gets another shot in the rotation or another team is willing to trade for him and give him 30 starts.

Wilson, Muller and Demeritte for Vazquez

I’d do that everyday. Add Wright and see if you could get Marte. Just saw where the Mets are less likely to trade Thor now and that the Pirates are really listening on Vazquez. If AA trades any of our best prospects it’ll be for somebody controllable and Vazquez is just that.

Vazquez would no doubt change the whole look of the bullpen and the end of the game for us. I’d say no to trading Anderson or Pache for him.

I'm not trading any 50 FV for any relief pitcher.

He makes a solid amount of money. I don't think he has a huge surplus value. He's likely a 2 WAR one inning pitcher for the rest of his contract. I would not give up much. Wentz might be the biggest piece I'd move.

I wonder if it'd be possible to get Vasquez without any of our big three. If it is, I'd probably do it. Something like Wright and Contreras as the start of the package?

The Dodgers have been linked a lot, but they've said they won't give up Lux in a deal.

This. He’s a game changer like when Chapman came to the Cubs and won them a championship good. Lefty throwing 100 with control. I’d trade a 50 for him all day. We don’t have anybody coming in the minors that could be an elite closer so that’s why I’d make the move.

I would likely give up a decent package for Vazquez. One that would sting. The big 3 for me are off limits at this point.

The Puig-Bauer-Trammell trade is epicly good for Cleveland. Not so good for the other two teams.

I like it for SD... got rid of a bad defensive OFer who is likely more suited for DH duty, helped their OF log jam. Sure they got rid of Allen but he looks about like Aaron Blair to me. Also one rookie ball wild card that will likely be nothing. They get back a much better prospect than all of them in Trammel. I think it boosted their farm even more. Hard to see the bad for them.

The 2 biggest chips to fall have been Bauer and Stroman and they both went to non contending teams. Hopefully the dam will break after lunch and we’ll see some of these teams give in.
