2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

The 2 biggest chips to fall have been Bauer and Stroman and they both went to non contending teams. Hopefully the dam will break after lunch and we’ll see some of these teams give in.
it’s pretty mind-blowing how horribly ran the Mets and Reds are.

I never figured they’d trade him anyways. The Giants if they are telling teams they are selling are smart bc they have no shot at winning anything.

I don't see the hate on the Storman deal. The mets got him for next to nothing and will replace Wheeler next year.

they should be building for the future tho. they apparently think they can compete next year...but i've got news for them.

It is definitely a risk they are taking. Trading their prospects to make a run at the wild card this year. Next seasons free agent class is not great. So who do they have left to trade this offseason to be able to over take the braves Phillies and gNats

there is no way the Mets think they can compete for the WC this year. right??

FG has their playoff odds at 16.5%. The Reds at 4.7% and the Giants at 6.2%.
I will say that I can’t argue with a deGrom-Thor-Stroman 1-2-3, that’s insane. I just think they SHOULD sell. If they don’t make the playoffs this year, they’re idiots; if they make it, the haters look like an idiot.

They could be tough next year. Alonso, McNeil, Conforto, and a healthy Nimmo and Cespedes. That's not amazing or anything, but it's a pretty solid core of hitters. And obviously their starting pitching looks to be pretty good yet again. Of course, the Nats, Braves, and Phillies should all be tough as well.
