2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

Could be he is trying to land a bigger fish for the pen.

Correct. Although we could have easily beaten the offer, I wonder how much salary has to do with it. I think he was making around $2m this season

After the DK signing, we still have room to play. But with Swanson and neck being hurt I wonder if AA shifted a little budget to possibly a bench piece as well

Passan just said he feels like most of the deals wont happen until the 30/31st.

Vazquez for what pieces?

Wentz and Demeritte for Peralta? Could pass on Markakis' 2020 option, and you'd still have an awfully nice Peralta/Duvall platoon option.

Think Peralta cost more than that.

Apparently, the Braves and Jays have talked, but Stroman is NOT the focus of the dialogue.

Wonder if Ender holds any interest for them in a potential Giles or Daniel Hudson deal? Teoscar Hernandez and Grichuk certainly aren't very good defensively, and they don't have any CFers on the way anytime soon. He obviously wouldn't be the main piece, but could help offset salary and would clear a 40-Man spot.

Gabe Burns said the Braves made a real effort to get Diaz from Seattle but doesnt consider it likely they will try to get him from the Mets.

The guy I would love as our catcher of the future is just mashing in LA. I am huge of the kid, having met and talked with him multiple times from high school through college at UofL.

He's probably gonna be their everyday guy next year.
