2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

I'm not sure Pence can really play the outfield anymore. If you're going to go after him, you might as well go after Castellanos, who has more power out of Comerica.

I think Pence is much better than Castellanos in the OF.

AA will probably grab an OFer we haven't talked about much.

Rosenthal: The #Mets scratched Ervin Santana from his Triple A start today. Syndergaard scheduled to pitch for them in majors tonight. Not known whether two are linked.

The Mets wanna dip into our prospect stash even if it means trading us Thor and Diaz. Minaya was there watching Anderson and left after 3 innings bc he saw all he needed too. If they are reasonable I think a deal happens with them.

Alex Gordon and Corey Dickerson remain two guys to watch. Both lefties though, I believe. Both on the last year of their guarantees.

Gordon brings the veteran/championship leaderyness.

Zach Wheeler and a nice bullpen piece.
But it also wouldn’t shock me if we did nothing because of the lack of sellers.I really believe this will be a uneventful deadline and MLB will move it back next season.

There are a lot of options out there. Alex Wood is another one that gets mentioned now and then. Could help either in the pen or the rotation.

I agree. Wood, Pence, and Leclerc would be a very good, relatively low cost trade deadline that would address all our needs.

Pretty good point about the trading teams with high asking prices for controllable pieces made today on XM -

They SHOULD be high enough to make you hurt - it's not their job to make your team better.

If you want a chance to win, go get players - if you want to hoard prospects, enjoy watching the playoffs with the rest of us.
