2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

I like the idea of trading for Giles on a discount and betting that he comes back strong down the stretch—though the depth of the discount matters, given the risk.

Mark Feinsand said on MLB Network that Puig and Castellanos are the two names that come up the most in our OF search.

I'm good with either, outfield is just as big of a need as RP/SP is to me.

Just about 24 hours until the deadline, and the only thing thats happened today is freaking Phelps to the Cubs.

Rest of today, and Wednesday better be active.

Except he just received a cortisone shot and wont pitch again before deadline

Exactly? That’s the essential premise of my post—trade for the guy recuperating, while his trade value is tanking, making the lower-stakes bet he comes back strong this season. The same update re the cortisone shot, btw, noted an MRI showed no structural damage.

Phelps would’ve been a good pickup for the Braves, tbh.

Just remember what AA said in the booth during Royals games.

If you haven't already started working on a trade by Monday of this week, it's probably not gonna come together at the last second.

Padres made what they consider to be a strong offer for Syndergaard involving major league players, but still can’t find common ground. Teams have been talking NS for like 8 months and they’re not there yet.

The Padres are in the same boat as us when it comes to prospects. Other teams want our best 1-2 prospects where our 4-5 would be other teams best prospects and it’s making it hard to come together on a trade. Also the Mets are trying to get back why they traded for Diaz and he’s having a down year so nobody is wanting to overpay like they did.

I agree but there's been like 1 big trade in Stroman and nothing really else so far.

Obviously some others will be moved once it gets close, but damn.

Wouldnt say thats true. Gore is obviously untouchable as well as Tatis, but everyone else should be on the table, or isnt a bad ask from the Mets. But i cant blame the Mets for asking for Tatis/Gore.

Rosenthal- More evidence #Mets do not intend to take step back: Sources say team is asking for major-league or major-league ready pieces for Syndergaard, even from clubs with top farm systems.

We play at 12:05 PM tomorrow so hopefully AA makes something shake sometime tonight.

He'll probably be at his office all day and not at the game Wednesday.

It is true. When you have a loaded system people ask for more.

Allard, Wright, Ender, Camargo, Folty/Gaus?

4/5 of that i guess.
