2020 Field

actually creepy joe has pledged to let any investigation and law enforcement action run its course without political interference

i'm glad he made that pledge...no one ought to be above the law...but they better have a very strong case if they are going to indict a former president

Its not even in Biden's hands. He has been implicated in several felonies in the state of New York. Theres little better evidence than your lawyer saying "yes, me and my client conspired to commit multiple felonies". Its state crimes so Trump cant pardon himself or resign and have Pence pardon him.

I am not going to hold my breath on Trump being prosecuted for his many crimes as President. I do think Biden should preemptively announce he would name Adam Schiff as AG and he will be free to investigate government corruption past and present. This way when Republicans/Fox News throws a pity party Biden can simply say "Look, I told the whole country who would be AG and that we would place a high priority on fighting corrupt past and present, the voters were well aware and they overwhelmingly voted for it, elections have consequences, and I will not break campaign promises because the party who lost the Presidency in a landslide and voters decided should be in the minority in both houses of Congress throws a pity party"

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) rejected an idea floated by
Trump to delay the November presidential election, saying
Thursday that it should go forward as planned.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has already made clear
in a statement confirmed by his communications director, David Popp,
that November’s election date is set in stone. In an interview with WNKYTV,
a local NBC and CBS affiliate in Kentucky scheduled to air in full
Thursday evening, the GOP senator will cite past crises that
have taken place during an election.

For what its worth if the whole election was moved back past January 21st 2021 or did not happen Patrick Lehay would become President because Pelosi is also up for reelection. Or atleast thats my interpretation.

Not a big Mark Sanford fan, but his quote nailed it:

"Let me get this right, Americans were able to vote through the Civil War, WWI & WWII, the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 and 9/11, but because a sitting president’s poll numbers are falling the election should be postponed?"

The insatiable move to kill the filibuster from Dem leaders is concerning enough to avoid voting for the walking corpse.

That precedent would be catastrophic

I think its all fair game after the precedent shattering term of Trump. We both know Republicans can and will use the filibuster to obstruct and quite frankly if they lose the Presidency and both sides of Congress then as they put it during Trumps reign, that would be denying the will of the people. If I wanted Republicans to have a say in the next 4 years I would vote for them. I dont. They can go throw a pity party on Hannity and Tuck the Cuck. If they dont like it, campaign on it and try to win some power back in 2022.

i foresee four new senators, 2 each from DC and Puerto Rico...and 20 long years in the political wilderness for the GOP...that's what happens when a party sells its soul to the devil like we've seen the past four years...the punishment is gonna be long and painful...hope you find a good water supply

Oh the dems lust for power will be taken full advantage of. No doubt about that

(Note - one can be anti-GOP while not being fully supportive of a massive pendulum shift to radical big government dystopia)

faustian bargain is the technical term...Klauss Mann wrote an interesting novel on the theme...

As you've tirelessly posted about norms destruction, remember that as you get your court packing, fillebuster proof government empire.

Biden is the most conservative Democrat I can think of. If you dont want the left to go to the extreme Biden is your guy. He pledged to veto medicare 4 all for example. Once Biden gets in office he no longer has to negotiate and his campaign promises go out the window. Based on history my guess is even if he wins in a landslide and Democrats take both sides of Congress Biden will throw an olive branch to Republicans and try to work with them and they will spit in his eye and use it to attack him.

I don't think Biden will survive the term.

And I figured you'd prefer Trump over Kamela based on what matters to you

I am mostly a 1 issue voter, you know what that issue is, not sure how anyone can be worse than Trump on that issue. He obviously isnt going to do it. He has a stereotype in his head and I know there is no amount of evidence that will change that to him. Kamala seems to want to be President and understands which way the wind is blowing in terms of legalization.

we can all tell which way the wind is blowing...sniff sniff

"Moving the election is a non-starter?"

Trump - "nope, I am totally going there"

I hope you people are smart enough to know these arent exact quotes.

I better not see any of y'all embracing the Federalist Society as resistance heroes or whatnot.

The architect of the building is the first one to know it's collapsing.

That's it, and that's all.

wish I could write a sentence like that
so yeah, I got sentence envy
so what !!!
