Yeah and no. Systemic bias is real. And we should want to do something about it. But woke language is something middle America doesn't appreciate. So the politically savvy thing is to do something about it while soft-pedaling the language. Practical people understand action/policy is more important than language.

Yeah I’m sure there are plenty of “race neutral” solutions out there where the benefits of a change would flow disproportionately to black people

i can think of college admissions shifting to focus on people with disadvantaged backgrounds....i'm not really interested in helping minorities who come from advantaged backgrounds...they don't need anyone's help

by the way the Affordable Care Act helped a yuge number of disadvantaged people without focusing unduly on race.

Reforming police and the criminal justice system has similar potential.

But the thing that will move this country forward the most is knowledge. Adding to the knowledge base of how doctors treat people of color differently, often without realizing it. How the media covers or does not cover minority neighborhoods. Real estate agents. Etc, etc. Show people of good will facts about how their profession treats minorities, and they will be rightfully appalled and adjust their behavior.

Employing woke language. I'm not sure that moves the ball forward.

ha...well he is a special case of venality and incompetence

not surprisingly you are happy to play the obtuseness card

if you can't acknowledge the risks he poses to this country by now, I don't think any combination of facts and analysis will open your eyes

yeah...i know obama droned your guy...without due process no less

He's left me alone.

Your boy insists he won't.

I am not for giving people advantages based on their race, I just want to stop the harm being done to them that is disadvantaging them.

I can think of others to add to the list, but I don’t believe my lefty friends will be on board (min wage, rent control, school choice, etc.)

screw em then...i lived in berkeley...liked some of the people, even the lefty people...but not interested in seeing their model of government applied on a national scale...although i must say local politics in berkeley was endlessly entertaining

Mail piling up in Cincinatti as they take multiple sorters offline and and are scheduled to be removed soon. There is no excuse for this ****. Curious if this is happening all over Ohio or just in places that vote Democrat like major cities. If this **** ends up being successful could we have other countries not recognize Trump as the winner.

If you think the George Floyd protests were big, the protests are going to be massive and extremely violent if he manages to pull this off.

Is there a distinction worth making between very poorly chosen one and Laura Loomer or Marjorie Taylor Green?

Democracy is chaotic.

And yet California has the 6th highest per capita income among states. Behind Maryland, New Jersey, Hawaii, Massachusetts and Connecticut. All solidly blue states.

The bottom 10 in per capita income: West Virginia, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee. Red states, with the exception of New Mexico.

Does being red make you poor?

Or does being poor make you red?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Moving on to life expectancy:

The top 5: Hawaii, California, New York, Minnesota, Connecticut

The bottom 5: West Virginia, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas

hmmmm
