2021 MLB Draft

Keith Law has Cusick 12 overall: Cusick has one of the best fastballs in the draft, into the upper 90s with enough life that nobody can hit it, so while his breaking ball is inconsistent and his changeup — more like a low-90s two-seamer — is a work-in-progress, he offers top-10 upside with more downside risk.

Very true. And I’d bet that one of Bush/Schwellenbach makes it to our second round pick.

The only reason to take either of those guys at #24 is the massive amount they would have been able to go below slot to spend later.

An unpolished hard throwing college pitcher who needs to develop his secondary stuff. Sounds like a tall Jason Hursch. Has he had his obligatory TJS yet?

Anyone else watching the MLB stream? Was that CC Sabathia segment not complete bull****? I would say he was phoning it in but he literally was.

I wonder how much CC got paid to say he liked his swag and moxy. Especially impressed with the way he controls the running game..... all that pitching knowledge to get that.....

A little shocked that they didn’t take Bubba when he slid that far. His situation just mirrored Frenchy forcing his way to the Braves years ago.

Rays are next. Whoever they pick, considering how strong their system always seems to be, is a good bet to be a top five minor league prospect I bet

They said Cusick throws strikes with his FB it’s his secondary pitches in the zone that will make or break him.
