2022 Trade Deadline

So you want to talk about career peak?

I don't think you'll like that discussion, either.

Holy ****, dude. I’m talking about their career overall. Laureano is just another guy who can provide value to a team if utilized correctly. It’s strange that you want to die on this hill so bad.

Laureano seems like a great option as a platoon partner with Rosario if he’s really as cheap as folks are suggesting. He’s not ideal everyday, but if Rosario is going to just keep being awful he’s probably a good backup plan everyday.

Didn't Laureano just serve an 80 game for suspension for PEDs as well?

Two additional years of control. He’s not likely to get a lot in arbitration.

Give KC Davidson and they’ll pay for Taylor’s contract.

Hate to always circle around to veterans with reputations that aren't particularly good anymore, but since Alex doesn't have much to go shopping with other than cash and rotation depth of any sort couldn't hurt...

DMGM is on the record saying they're not going to trade Greinke unless he asks to be dealt. That said, he'd probably enjoy pitching in one more race on his way out the door. He's not Greinke anymore just as MadBum's not MadBum anymore, but having him around to gobble up some innings down the stretch (possibly even using a 6-man rotation to lessen all the loads) and allowing Muller and Tarnok to stay in Gwinnett the rest of the way like Wright did last season probably wouldn't hurt. They've been looking to dump Taylor for a while now - maybe taking Greinke's money on might even allow him to offer even less than that (assuming Zack wants to pitch in one more stretch run). Greinke wouldn't bring a lot to the table, but Strider and Anderson could probably benefit from having someone with his breaking stuff around - and EVERYONE could learn plenty about preparation from him. He could more or less serve as your "Soroka insurance".

Why did you stop at 3 years? Because Laureano was incredible 4 years ago with a full bill of health. That's why.

Laureano is basically the only guy you have to gameplan around in Oakland now, btw.

He's a more dynamic player than Duvall. Classic case of Braves fans defending their own over being rational.

1 player has 3 years with at least 2.5 fWAR. That player is not Laureano. He's had roughly 1.5 good seasons, fueled by high BABIPs. The last 3 seasons, he mostly certainly hasn't been better than Duvall.
