2022 Trade Deadline

Have there been any rumors on Pham? Seems like a good fit. Hits lefties well.

Seems he wears out his welcome fast but for a two month rental it could work.

Wonder if the angels will sell Taylor ward? RHH on a cheap 1-year deal. He and Joey wendle are my wish list

He’s cheap because he still has several years of control. I don’t think they will be shipping him out considering he’s their only other decent player.

Rockies just extended Daniel Bard, no terms on the contract. Typical Rockies move.

I was about to say, I’d like to back up the Brinks truck and go get the 3B from Boston and stick his ass in left field ……
Then I realized this isn’t 2017 and we don’t have a Brinks truck. Hell we barely have a goodwill donation wagon…… I guess that’s a good thing that all of our minor league star guys turned into MLB gold, but I do miss having the Brinks available….

Devers wants 300 mil+

Look, when you're a 45-56 team and you have the chance to extend your 37-year-old closer with a 3.54 FIP, you have to seize that opportunity.

In a vacuum this move makes no sense for the reason you just mentioned. But it’s so rare for the Rockies to find good pitchers that want to be there (without significant overpays). If he stinks immediately, they won’t miss the $18m (Rockies have always raked in money) or the fringe prospect they could have kept.

Feinsand said this too.

Other outfielders available on the trade market include Ian Happ, David Peralta, Ben Gamel, Tommy Pham, Ramon Laureano. Alex Anthopoulos worked some deadline magic with his outfield acquisitions last summer (Joc, Duvall, Soler).

Laureano is a favorite of mine because of his ability to play CF and is RH. He provides platoon insurance for Harris for October.

Not going to work with Devers...however, there is a RH-hitting 3B that has actually spent a little time in LF that Alex probably has the type of expendable pieces to get if he wanted to go that way. The Yankees are still shopping Andujar, and at least know he's not going to net them much in return.

The problem with that is there's probably no good reason to expect Andujar to give you much production if he's being used as the short-side of a platoon REGARDLESS of what position he plays defensively.
