2022 Trade Deadline

Only one team was adding Soto.. we never had the ammo to do it. What else is really out there that is better at the prices being paid.

Maybe a Soler reunion, but he has been underwhelming.. although, I am always for a Soler reunion. Was Miami even selling?

I mean, I get all that, it's just underwhelming.

It's like blowing out a tire on your Ferrari and then buying a donut spare tire from a guy for $3. Sure, you made a great value purchase, but it doesn't really address the issue well considering the overall context of the situation.

I think Preller is a joke of a GM, but I do sometimes wish AA was just a little more Preller-like...a very little.

Ironically, AA in Toronto had many Preller like tendencies. He seems to have matured and learned restraint since then.

It’s definitely been underwhelming so far. I do like the Odorizzi trade though. If we could get Happ I’d be perfectly happy.

It would be funny if the Padres dont make it to the WS and Soto does not sign an extension for them. We shall see.

Last year the Soler and the Rodriguez deals were announced within about 10 minutes after the deadline passed. Wouldn’t be surprised to see something similar again

I think they will. There are only so many teams that can offer that kind of contract to him. But having 3 $300M+ players will make it hard to fill out the rest of the roster

That’s why i hate the expanded playoffs bc several teams are in limbo like the Giants that should sell.

It would be but gotta keep in mind they have him for 2 more playoff pushes after this season.
It’s why I didn’t hate much on the deal.
They could end up trying to get back a prospect next season or the next at this time.
I thought it was a pretty fair deal on both sides.

Yeah that was great. The deadline passed and DOB says “the Braves tried but couldn’t find any other deals that made sense.” Then 2 mins later RichRod and Soler were announced. Most useless beat writer ever. At least with Bowman we have fat jokes

I listened to his podcast with EOF this week. In the middle of the podcast, the chat broke the Odorizzi trade for him. There is not a less plugged in beat writer in sports.

Yeah, but it seems like he's swung a little too far the other direction.

And then he inexplicably signs Will Smith for 3 years as the first real FA contract he gives out after several years of sticking to 1 year deals.

Those are just my minor gripes with AA.
