I hear his dad is friends with Ted Cruz' dad. They go way back. And neither of them has been able to produce a long-form birth certificate. Just sayin.

The dude pretty much single handedly destroyed the covid hysteria by paving the way for the rest of the country to follow. If not for him, we'd probably still be like Canada or UK as the tyrants would still be claiming danger

For that alone he is an actual hero

The problem with that is trumps ego. Will trump step aside and let DeSantis have the throne or will trump want himself or don jr to have the seat? Donald trump won’t play second fiddle.

Let’s see what happens after these audits are done. Trump may not be eligible to run because of serving two terms.

Either way, I don’t think Don Jr is anywhere close to being a viable candidate. I could see him emerging in 10 years a bit more polished. Actually Lara Trump is closer than Don in terms of being a viable candidate. She’s pretty good.

Whatever the voters decide is the right choice. Either candidate will win in a landslide even after we expose all the cheating the Democrats do. GA turning blue all be a distant memory.
 
I think you guys are overrating how much loyalty Trump supporters have for him. He caught lightning in a bottle in 16 because of a weak field and the competition still playing the passive game that served McCain and Romney so well. If Cruz, Rubio, Jeb, maybe even Santorum had shown as much spine and willingness to stand up for their supporters, Trump wouldn't have even attended the convention.

I still see Trump flags flying from houses and pickups so I know there is some personality cult. I am also aware that the majority of 2020 Trump voters I'm acquainted with had to hold their nose to do it. Someone with Trump's positives and without his foul mouth, whoring, ego, tweeting, dishonesty, and various other negatives will be a much easier sell among his mostly culturally conservative voters

Trump is about getting the low propensity voters out. I’m just not sure Desantis can do that yet.

The narrative on trumps viability is going to change quickly once the freight train of audits reveal the fraud. GA we already know should have been awarded to trump. Let’s see what the true results are before saying Trump shouldn’t be the leader of the party still.

This is the conundrum for the GOP. Trump way underperforms a generic Republican in a lot of suburban areas. But he gins up turnout in the reddest areas like no one else can. Hard circle to square.

I was disappointed with Cotton's finish, tied with Noem for 7th at 30%. But this was also only 500 respondents choosing something like their top 3. Still, I'll gladly take DeSantis.
