Depends on how you evaluate what good policy means and what goals are important to achieve with its implementation.
A better scenario is Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Favre didn't know when to step away. The Packers rightfully traded him away and watched Rodgers go on to be one of the best QBs in the world, a SB Champ, and 4x MVP.
You believe thats the scenario and thats fine. I think you will all find out an overwhelming majority of the R party doesn't agree.

A candidate that will get 1-2% of the vote is irrelevant. A candidate that will get 10-20% of the vote while their annoying influencers poison the well is a completely different story.

As I've said from the beginning. The whole point of Desantis entering the race was to fracture MAGA so when Trump doesn't win because of turnout issues they can say its time to turn the page on MAGA.
However, if Desnatis did win and MAGA doesn't show up it will be blamed on Trump!!!!! DAMN TRUMP!!!

The reason I started turning on Trump to begin with is when he started blasting RDS last October bc he was mad RDS was actually winning his races. Then he did the same for Youngkin. He did the same for Brian Kemp.
Dude hates everyone who takes his spotlight away. That's why he can't get anyone competent to work for him anyone. I've lost all faith in his judgement, and his competence has always been questionable.
For the last 4 months he's been crying daily about RDS. It's such a pathetic look.
I don't need an "influencer" to tell me what In can see with my own eyes. He has been more kind to Gavin newsmen than RDS... He's supporting Disney against RDS. He calls Florida the worst state to live and retire in because of RDS. He said New York handled Covid better because of RDS. He has spent more money attacking RDS than he spent on his own hand picked candidates election efforts. he attacked RDS for endorsing "losers" like Kari Lake and Lee Zelda.
The dude is off his rocker and RDS is to him what Trump is nsacpi.

Nobody is making Trump rant like a lunatic on a daily basis, and attack his most important and powerful allies. How does he expect to be successful in office if he were to win, when everyone who matters despises the guy from being relentlessly attacked every day?
