lol at thinking CNN is a place where Trump is going to break a sweat.
CNN loves Trump for his ratings. And Kaitlin Collins built a rapport with Trump when she was White House correspondent (he called on her a lot during pressers and questions in the front lawn of the white house). She is the CNN equivalent of Maggie Haberman at NYT. They know they are liked by Trump more than other reporters, so they push sometimes on things Trump can appear to fight back at so both sides look like they're coming out tough, but Haberman is basically an outlet for Trump to get his stuff in via the NYT.
Tucker didn't challenge Trump on anything. The closest he came was asking him if he thought Epstein really killed himself and what was Barr talking about. The rest was playing nice and feeding into Trump's ego. He couldn't have gotten a more softball interview if he wanted other than sit down with Hannity. Tucker asks Donald a question, Donald answers however he wants and Tucker more or less shakes his head in agreement and doesn't challenge him. Hannity gives Trump a leading question that's already formulated to make Trump look good, and all Donald does is agree and expound on it to make him look more sophisticated.
The people in Trump's base who don't know about Tucker's texts and emails trashing Trump behind the scenes, are not watching CNN regularly, and probably weren't even watching the CNN Townhall. Those same people for sure are on facebook and twitter watching the Tucker interview today.
