Trump was not a sitting POTUS in 2015. And Trump wins easily in 2020 if not for the Pandemic. His approval ratings were near 50% in early 2020. They dropped into the 30s by June. I wonder what happened between early 2020 and June 2020....

This is below the rating that any of the six incumbent presidents re-elected since Eisenhower has had at the time of the presidential election. However, in August of the year before they were re-elected, Ronald Reagan (43%) and Bill Clinton (46%) were both below 50%. Obama's position of rough parity against leading GOP candidates shows that more Americans at the moment say they would vote for Obama than approve of the job he is doing -- perhaps a reflection of the continuing lack of a strong front-runner on the Republican side.

very poorly chosen one is ok with anyone who helps splinter the anti-trump vote and prevents it from coalescing behind a viable opponent
 
I have no clue what the truth is but there is a certain segment of the Republican voting base that is now incensed that Vivek is taking up some of the rooms helium.
