Kim will get 3/$45m or more this offseason. He’s also never put up 5+ WAR season. Murphy, coming off 2 WAR while playing part time and injured, would clear 3/$45m.Doubtful considering he just had surgery and his recovery time is unknown. Not to mention he's already 30 with a history of injuries.
Kim was a high quality SS in a mostly barren FA class last year and had to settle for 2/29 with an opt out. And even after a solid run with us at the end of the season, he might not eclipse 3/45 this off-season.
Murphy is gonna have to prove he is both healthy and good before he recoups any trade value.
