2025-2026 offseason thread

If the braves get to the bat only guy, bring back Ozuna. I think he will rebound nicely next season once he's healthy. I want a real OF though
.

I don't think that Acuña is going to be the primary DH, because I do not think he will want to do that and that matters. If he is cool with it then ok.

If not, that makes signing a major OF more difficult as you have two other starting OF pencilled in.

Bellinger as a super utility guy seems swell but not sure that is what his agent has in mind.
Berlinger or Tucker aren't gonna be here unless profar is moved.

Yeah if we got that far down the list of hitting options that we were considering a bat only player like Schwarber or Alsonso, I think I would rather just bring Ozuna back for 5 million rather than pay either one of those guys around 20+ million annually for 4 years or more.

AA isn't gonna invest 180 million in a guy to rotate with 2 other guys imo
I would be surprised to see Bellinger get 180 million. He might. But I would be surprised. Bellinger also wouldn't "rotate" in the sense that he would be platooning. It would be 4 guys (Profar, Baldwin, Acuna, and Murphy) sharing the DH duties. Bellinger would be expected play 140+ games in the field.

But AA will most likely acquire a starting caliber OFer of some kind. We already tried getting Buxton at the deadline.

The thing is, AA knows that would be the optimal thing to do.

The only problem is, everyone in their right mind knows Snit could never be trusted to handle that type of roster management.

A competent manager would get Bellinger 600 at bats. Rotate all three outfielders. Sit Harris against tough lefties. Play Profar at 2B. Bellinger can play 1B if Olson needs a rest day at DH.

God forbid we have a good contingency plan if someone gets hurt. Fans should revolt if we are stuck with another De La Cruz situation.

this.. utilize the entire roster.. I am so tired of the stupid infecting this org and watching them lose games that could be won because they don't understand load management, matchups nor leverage.. it really isn't that hard...

It's still 3 players for 3 positions. Who is DH for the day doesn't really matter.
Yall are preaching to the choir. I'd love it, but AA won't do it. He hasn't done it, so why do you think he will now? And as soon as Berlinger makes more than Acuna, he will pout.

Wait…what?
The first part about Bellinger is just not gonna happen unless he ends up having to take a 1 year deal or something. The 2nd part is obviously how I feel he'd react. I think an Acuna extension is more likely than a big Bellinger deal.

Snit will be back, so there's no way in hell he can rotate 4 OF and Murphy/badwin around correctly.

I’m talking about Acuña’s reaction. You understand that there are a number of players who joined the team after him that make more money than him, right?

I wonder how the looming CBA next offsesaon will effect free agents this year. No doubt that's why Alonso opted out. He wants a multi year deal now and not have to deal with a potential lockout next season. Guys may not be as open as usual to settle for a 1 year deal.
