2025-2026 offseason thread

Just wonder how much better this team would be if AA would have just made its priority to keep the WS core together. FF/Swanson/WC would be nice right now. Plus we wouldn’t have meth or Profar and have Shea Whois a stud.

I mean everyone was like no way for Swanson. But the Braves haven’t had a good SS since and are paying Kim 5 mill less for half a year.

AA just needs to not fuck with shit and the ship would have driven itself.
 
The Braves are currently in the phase of their contention window where the hope of an aging and expensive Core bouncing back for a couple more playoff pushes is the strategy. As frustrating as that is, it’s how most windows of contention close when the resources aren’t there to fill in around that core.

Very similar to how the Phillies core of Utley/Rollins/Howard/Werth/Halladay/Hamels fell apart after their run of greatness.
 
Theres no magic formula in baseball. You can qin 140 games in the regular season and lose 3 in a row in the playoffs. Just get in and who knows. At this point just making it to a playoff series vs the Dodgers is a championship. I refuse to ever acknowledging the accomplishment of cheaters.

He better get used to it because at the rate his defense has declined he will never play the field again outside of 1B and emergency situations in LF. I dont understand how defense can decline so fast unless he is horribly out of shape or just not trying.
 
Most of the position players are not what I'd call aging at this point.

Has some poor luck there but it happens. That's the risk of locking up a group even if they are young. The flexibility goes away.
