2025-2026 offseason thread

I posted a tweet from one of the braves' guys about bummer a few weeks ago. It basically just pointed out that bummer was great as a reliever, but his numbers got inflated by snit extending him as an opener
Interested to see what happens if we have a manager that properly deploys arms based on their splits and not traditional outdated thinking.

i'm more concerned about his shoulder injury combined with a big drop in velocity and strikeout rate

his numbers as a reliever are decent for sure

I would like to have Bummer on the team and be properly utilized. He also costs a good bit of money but other teams might think he’s worth it. If AA is going to be on a budget with a whole bunch of needs, he might want to shed the salary but there should be a suitor out there. It’s not an outrageous statement to say Bummer may be traded.

Bummer is good if used correctly, He costs a lot but its only 1 year. Thats a good thing/ No long term risk. Bummer/Jiminez/Johnson cost about 25 million in 26. We have some good young future relievers in the high minors. Ideal situation would be transitioning to the young guys in 26 and having great depth going into the playoffs and we can let all 3 go and replace them with cheap pre-arb players.

Woof. Realized he got shut down due to shoulder inflammation last year. Came back, but then went down again with a knee injury.

Not exactly sure why he opted out.
I like King. He should have opted in though bc nobody is gonna give him a big deal with the arms available this offseason.

King had a mutual option, those are basically never accepted by both.

He'll have a QO offer on him, so hard pass.
