Murph has negative trade value.. horrible 2025 and was injured to finish the year.. no one is giving any value for Murph at this point.
I think you guys are now trying to claim some sort of victory on the word negative... it is not that deep and you can clearly see that I followed up that post with the fact that Murph is basically a throw in that would balance the money out a bit and give the Rangers a good catcher hopefully. So take the word negative and spin it anyway you want.. but It is CLEAR that I am saying he is not adding any value to the trade outside of clearing payroll for the Braves..I am all onboard with Seager too.. I think your package is probably enough to do it.. not sure if Daysbel does anything.. but Waldrep alone is pretty good. Murphy balances money and gives them hopefully a good catcher..SS lottery ticket and maybe a pitching lottery ticket to replace Daysbel.
left out Elder.. he is a nice piece that might help the package.. he doesn't have a ton of value, but he isn't a cast off either.
If some team wants to give the Braves a 40fv prospect and it makes you feel good that that return is some sort of positive value then you hold those cards close to you.. but if my star catcher that I traded away a younger/cheaper/better catcher for is only netting me a 40 maybe 45 fv prospect.. then that is pretty damn negative imo...
