2025-2026 offseason thread

I think the 17 million tag plus the injury concerns would reduce the price of prospects by a good bit.. you are only buying at most 2 expensive years of a guy coming off a down season. The fish are not going to be competing within that window and they should absolutely be looking at trading him...

That said, I have a feeling they are rolling the dice he bounces back a bit more this year and he will be a huge get at the deadline. I wouldn't blame them for doing that either.

I don't remember Sandy being a problem hitting Acuna often... it was mainly Urena and Pablo Lopez

He hit him in the NLDS after Acuna had hit a home run. It was talked about so much because of the history of marlins pitchers hitting Acuna that season. That was when Acuna tweeted that the Marlins have to hit him because they can’t get him out. But he brushed off the Alcantara plunking as it just being something to fuel the rivalry.

Because he got hurt and had TJ. He was a TOR guy at the age of 25 and 26 and won a CYA. Got hurt in 23, missed 24, and wasn't good at all in his first season back last year. Who knows if he even has the same stuff anymore.
Looks like the movement, spin, and velocity are pretty much the same.

Appears maybe his mechanics and release points are most significant change.

Trade framework so far:

Pirates get - Brandon Lowe, Mason Montgomery, Jake Mangum

Astros get - Mike Burrows

Rays get - Jacob Melton, Anderson Brito

To clarify the Baz trade, this is what the O's gave up:

2 first round picks from the 2025 draft, the 33rd pick in the 2026 draft, their 4th overall prospect according to FG, and a rising pitching prospect that might be a 45FV when FG updates their rankings.

All for Shane Baz..... I mean wtf? I would have traded them Waldrep for that package and not thought twice about it.
