2025-2026 offseason thread

The idea of baby Acuna is growing on me. Good pinch runner and would be the RHH jack knife compliment to Dubon. Wouldn’t expect anything special out of him but if used properly could provide a ton of value.
Not sure he's better than Eli white as a PR. Mateo seems like a decent cheap option for a month

I assume the white sox might actually want Luisangel for their own depth.

I’m not sure who you can go get at this point. Any decent depth player is probably a guy their current team wants to hold on to. Mateo might be about as good as you’ll get right now.

It sounds like Acuna actually has the inside track for the Sox CF job

I agree that the Sox would probably prefer to just keep the guy they just traded for. But if the right offer came along and white was part of the deal, then they might budge. They aren’t trying to compete at this point.

I don't understand what they're waiting on to acquire an actual MLB starting pitcher. Is AA hoping the prices drop just a little bit more on Bassitt or Giolito? Wait much longer and they won't be ready for Opening Day.

Ok, but there are literally 13 position players on the 40 man roster. The minimum number of position players an MLB team must have is 13. That’s the definition of zero depth going into the season.
There are a few guys signed to minor league contracts for roster flexibility purposes who figure to make the team, and some who will become available during ST.

That seems like a manufactured problem to complain about.

Pitchers and catchers haven’t reported yet. Valdez is likely holding up the market for Bassitt and Giolito.

There are 3 teams rumored to be after Framber and that's SF, NYM, and the O's. I think the Mets are probably done spending big. The Giants and O's really need him. I still think AA is working on getting a better controllable SP through trade.

If true, I get why he's taking forever to decide. Those are pretty shitty options lmao

The Mets and O's both look pretty good. The Giants I agree lol. The O's would be the best fit imo just not sure of their finances. I'd hate to lose Ritchie but I would if it meant getting Joe Ryan.
