2025-2026 offseason thread

I would like him to be pressed on “nothing materialized.” There have been no fewer than two dozen starting pitchers available the last two offseasons that could have helped this team. He added a grand total of zero. Where is the breakdown?
I’ve never met a general manager that answered those questions upfront and truthfully, so why would AA and why do we expect him too? He will always use gm speak just like coaches use coach speak. It’s how it’s always been literally everywhere and it will always be like that. He made offers to players that either weren’t what they wanted or they preferred to play somewhere else. He’s not sitting in his office playing darts and eating pudding pops. I’m no AA apologist, I think he’s missed on some guys and I also think he truly thinks he has more in the pipeline than we think they do….(that’s another discussion entirely) but I’m not under some illusion that he is not putting in work nor should he should go out in the media and give some tell all speech detailing how he’s failed signing these guys. Some of it is on him and some of it isn’t.

If he says they were in on deals people bitch that he always says he was close on a deal. If he says nothing people bitch that he’s asleep at the wheel because he was not negotiating deals. It’s as predictable as sunrise and sunset. People just bitch to hear themselves bitch.
Or how about actually give generic GM answers? I’ve never heard a GM like to talk so much about deals he almost made like AA after he’s unsuccessful in adding a significant piece.

Yeah I think additional context is important here.

As we’ve talked about, this team has needed pieces for two offseasons and could argue two deadlines now and that piece hasn’t been acquired. It’s not like good players haven’t been dealt or available. AA hasn’t produced. So for him to bring up almost deals when asked about it is annoying.

How long does the good will of a world series last? Infinity? Or do we try to win another one. I'm not viewing this ownership group as big spenders...but AA looks like a lying piece of...when he answers why the Braves haven't gotten a bonafide starter. The system is top heavy. Do something...grrr.

By that I mean...you have pieces.

We should make the playoffs this season. We aren't the best team in the NL, so hard to expect more than that

I mean there are 30 teams in MLB so an equal distribution would be one championship every 30 years. I’d say the good will should at least last 10 years minimum
