2025 Spring Training Thread

this doesn't make sense.. Perdomo was making nothing. It has nothing to do with money.

I too don't know why they gave him away. I feel there are other guys they could DFA and pass through the waiver process to add a spot on the 40 man.

It is odd but let’s not kid ourselves and think Perdomo has a lot of value and could have gotten something like even a middling prospect. Knowing the organization, I bet it had something to do with fit or an off field issue but I’m speculating at this point.

no, I agree.. he wasn't anything special.. I too think there might have been something off the field.. But maybe the Braves don't want to carry 3 lefties on the MLB roster and Lee and Bummer aren't going anywhere.

Or maybe AA is worried that Snitker won’t use Bummer in high leverage situations if we have three lefties in the pen.

Kimbrel back.

He can still be pretty filthy when he isn't walking the world. Hopefully he can reign it in for a season.

Yeah, there's nothing not to like about this move. There's zero risk. If he's terrible at AAA you cut him and move on.

Also, relievers are unstable commodities and sometimes will randomly put things together so it's not out of the realm of possibility that Kimbrel could do it. We know Kimbrel still has a huge ceiling as his K rate shows.

A potential impact reliever with zero risk is a bet you always make. Even if the chances of him having a Renaissance are small, you still make the bet every time.
