Anderson might make sense as a buy-low candidate for a hopeless rebuilding team like the White Sox. But if you're a team that actually cares about the outcome of its games, it's hard to justify going out of your way to acquire Ian Anderson.
This is exactly the type of team who should be giving Anderson 100 innings to see if he can get back to being a legit SP. So in that sense he has value as an asset with potential.
