2025 Spring Training Thread

I've seen 4 Drake Baldwin PAs so far this Spring, and man does he look confident and polished up there. Great approach and swing decisions.

Baldwin looks great. Glad he was not available in trades.

Anderson has a couple of walks, but three innings on 28 pitches is good.

I would prefer Ian not be our No. 5 starter to begin the year, but people forget that this is who he was/is. Nothing has changed. lol

not sure I am as excited about Baldwin as others right now. seems like he only wants to go the other way and slap the ball around. I haven't seen the hard contact that he had in AAA..

Holmes has looked a little less effective to me this Spring than he was late last year, but still solid. With 3 to 4 usable pitches at the MLB level, I've got no real concerns with him meeting expectations as a backend starter.

Baldwin looks very good at the plate and I like the approach. There will be middle in fastballs to turn on and hangers left in the zone to jump on.

Baldwin likes going the other way but that's a good approach bc pulling the ball is a lot easier to do. I'm glad AA took him out of all trade talks bc that dude is gonna be good. Nobody produces catchers like the Braves do and it looks like they did it again.

Ian is gonna get traded before the end of ST. With no options left and quite clearly not an option for our rotation, he's gotta go.

Hopefully someone has a decent starter they want to move as a salary dump. Looking at you AZ.

They'd have to eat money to keep us under the tax bc AA won't go over it at this point. I wonder if Anderson would interest the Padres? He's cheap and could be controllable a couple of more years so he could be a piece they could want back.
