I dont trust him to keep this up. If someone thinks he is a top 5 Catcher and wants to pay for it I all for it. Some teams view C like we view SS.
 
Murphy with his 2025 salary paid by the Braves is an extremely valuable trade piece. I don’t think anyone would be for trading him just for the best offer on the table. It has to be a trade that gets the Braves a young player ready to contribute at a position of need either right now, or early 2026.

I don't either. Certainly not in 2 years.

The alternating DH/C bit sounds good if you don't have other glaring holes. But when half of your lineup is hitting well below league average, you simply can't afford the luxury of 2 great hitting catchers.
 
I'd hold Murphy. We hope Drake is gonna be good, but we know Murphy is. Acuna should be the primary DH next season, so use money on OF, starting pitcher, good backup MIF, and pen.

Rotating Acuna, murihy, and drake through the DH spot. If the idea is to contend next season, I'm not rolling with Drake catching 120 games. Harris flopping scares me counting on young players, and also, catchers get hurt

Drake's statcast is pretty amazing. You can't fake that after this many at bats. We've seen enough to know he is legit. Even a small regression from his current line would still make him a top 10 offensive catcher in the league.

Defensively, he rates better than average, though he's currently a clear downgrade from Murphy who is one of the best overall defensive catchers in baseball. But he's also just a rookie.

You can’t compare Baldwin and Harris… Harris was always a risk because he never learned how to take a walk… Baldwin has always had a great eye and fantastic approach. And Baldwin’s EV is great. Completely different players and Baldwin is easily more sustainable. Harris’ approach reminds me more of Luis Robert and the league catching up…

Hey I hope he continues this, but he's showing more power in the majors than he has basically his whole MILB career.

I just don't understand the rush to trade a huge luxury we have in 2 really good catchers. I don't see us netting a great, mlb ready ss, so what's the point? There's supposed to be money available next season, so I'd rather hold a known commodity and spend money on Tucker and/or bichette.

What in the history of this team leads you believe we will spend big money on a FA, when our largest FA contract is still BJ Upton's 5/75 million deal?

Well if we aren’t getting MLB ready talent back that fills holes, he won’t be traded… no one is suggesting otherwise. But when you have a team with this many holes, you have to deal from a position of luxury if you want to fill those holes via trade. Baldwin has always had the high EV in the minors
 
Obviously if the cards wanna trade one of their SSs, I'd bite. I just wouldn't trade him for anything other than mlb impact player like he is. And what contender is gonna do that?

They aren't gonna plug the holes though...
Ozzie, Olson, catcher, Riley, Profar, Acuna, and Harris are all set... write em in pen for opening day. So that leaves SS and pitching... don't see a contender trading either midseason

A contender that needs a Catcher? Literally no one is suggesting we trade Murphy just to trade him for anything and you know this. Maybe it isn’t at the deadline… maybe it’s in the off season… but typically you can sell for an extra premium at the deadline

Will anyone offer enough to pry Murphy away? Probably not… but also zero people are suggesting we trade him for peanuts so I’m not quite sure what you’re arguing. If no one is offering difference making talent then you don’t trade him… lol
