2025 Trade Deadline Thread

Agreed. This is not hard to see. Underachieved....that's no exaggeration.
I'm gonna give AA one more offseason to see what happens bc he's earned it to this point. But if he doesn't address all of the teams needs while replacing Snit then 2026 needs to be his last season.

I don't think some grand epiphany is coming for AA. This is not the first year we've gotten tagged with pitching injuries. Whether it was his call or not, not making a single impact pitching acquisition in the offseason and trotting out what really amounted to a mediocre JUCO bench cannot be defended and someone should have to answer for it.

Shhhh...we made the playoffs last year.

The oddest arguments have been going on lately with people arguing points that aren’t really counter to something someone else said.

The Braves should have won more than they did based on consensus projections. The Braves were a good team before this season of injuries. Both statements are undeniably true, and neither point is counter to the other. Yet here we are with 3 pages of this argument circling the derp drain.

Bottom line is AA needs to reload for 2026 after mostly falling on his face the last 12+ months. This deadline is where he needs to figure it out again and correct course from his recent attempts to outsmart himself.

And AA followed up that disappointment with knowing he would be without acuna and strider for periods of 2025. Without Fried/morton/jj/minter/soler/ramon and probably others and only signed Nick Allen and a drug user. Then dumpsters dived for the rest. TOP FIVE GM!!

No one should expect anything this deadline. I will be surprised if he even trade Ozuna and Iggy and those should be slam dunks. But we will hear stories revolving around value and club house moral.

Eh. The points/counter points are made about the playoffs, mediocrity, injuries and the last 1-2 years. They all intertwine. But yes, In a nutshell, this deadline and offseason is where AA needs to course correct. Very true indeed.

Fortunately, the Braves are set up to do exactly what you are suggesting.

Reset the luxury tax, shed a few big contracts (by Braves standards) get some guys back from injuries.

The opportunity is there if AA wants to take it.

The Braves made the playoffs last year only because the Mets didn’t play the last game of the season. Saying they made the playoffs as some accomplishment doesn’t tell the real story.
Okay. They also blew the game before. They still won virtually 90 games in a loaded NL. Saying they only made the playoffs on a technicality doesn’t really mean much.

Bottom line is the team has underachieved for the past 2 years pretty much. The team should have had better quality depth but even if we would have had that depth it would not have over come the amount of injuries that we've had. I try to look at the glass half full so I'm gonna say that this year has been an eye opening experience for AA. I'll give him this coming offseason to see how he overcomes the amount of holes (there are a ton including a new manager) and if he doesn't address what the team needs to be back on top then I'll grab my pitchfork and join some of yall.
This is where I’m at. Unreasonable to jump ship at this juncture, given precedent of this regime. But the 2025 deadline and 2026 offseason will be a real litmus test for forthcoming faith is the future direction of the organization.

Yep. AA reset the tax, has plenty of money to spend this upcoming offseason, and should have a really high draft pick. After this coming offseason there should be no reason the Braves aren't back to a top 3 team next year.
