Yes. Making the playoffs usually means your team doesn't suck
This team was a 77% win team for two months last year. Specifically March and April in which they were 19-8. They played 55% baseball the rest of the way. They had no shot to win the world series. So yes...it's been more than a year of mediocre baseball. Saying they made the playoffs is cool to you...so be it. They did. It's better than not. But if that's your bar for what you expect, ok.

Yes - the only reason they made it was Sale won the Cy Young, Schwellenbach was terrific, the rest of the rotation was at least steady, the bullpen was mostly lockdown, and the team did show at least some mental resilience. Oh and the D'Backs fell apart at the end and the Mets completely tanked the last game of that Monday doubleheader.

We really didn't have much of a shot to win in 21 either. If Sale had of been healthy at the end of last year things could have went different. I know the bats went to sleep again but it's the playoffs and anything can happen.

We won less games in 2021 and won the WS.

But with Riley out, I will say it was super unlikely we were going to make much noise in the post-season unless we just had some epic pitching performances.

I'm not adverse to making the playoffs..lmao. The "if" game is prevalent with AA apologists. The end result for those who give af, is that this team hasn't been trending up. It's been mediocre. That's my point. I don't get giddy just because we limped into the playoffs. The big prize is the goal if I'm not mistaken.

I want to get back to that. AA has not put this team in position for said prize for a year and a half. I'm not wanting him fired. I want him to right the ship. Not that hard to decipher.

.550 winning percentage is winning baseball, my friend.
