2025 Trade Deadline Thread

If that's the case why would anyone trade for him now?

Count me among the people who agree it makes no sense to trade anyone signed for 2026 other than Murphy, and he only makes sense in a very small set of scenarios that likely don't exist right now.
He’s set to make $9.5 million next year. He’s not even close to worth that. Johnson is probably worth keeping though.

I also think there’s value in freeing up that salary for bigger upgrades in the offseason, while identifying/extracting, as a trade return, some younger/cheaper relief arms that can fill those spots in 2026 and beyond.

I don't see Murph getting traded this deadline.. ( I would be happy if he did) but could see something happening this offseason... I hope there is a good back up out there the team could grab. Cause you know as soon as Murph is traded, Baldwin will fall down a flight of stairs.

I think you'll be surprised at what Cease is forced to take. It'll be a pillow deal for sure.

But I'd sure love to bring him home.
I think that'll be AA's first move just not sure if Boras will let it happen bc he will wait it all the way out and cost his guys money to do it. AA has wanted Cease for a while so I hope it happens. We could really use him next year.

Philthies freaking fleeced the Twins. Wow.

By far the best closer on the market and controlled by 2 more years. And you get Abel (not much better of a prospect than Waldrep at this point, if at all) and Tate, who is good, but probably 3-4 years away.

I mean shit, I kind of wish the Braves has been on him if the Twins were gonna be this dumb.
