2025 Trade Deadline Thread

Is Walcott even close? Would he be a 2026 helper... if this was even true.
He's 19 and has almost 400 PAs in AA. I imagine someone like Allen would keep the position warm until he was ready in 2026.

While don't usually trade guys like him, a team with Seager locked in at SS would be the type of team who could, and a controllable star catcher who is free in 2025 is the type of MLB asset you'd want for a prospect like him.

yeah, I think Murph and Ozuna (both free this year) would be a nice return for him.. probably need Texas to throw in some lottery ticket for the cash the Braves would be sending.

Texas is currently:

#23 in C WAR, and somehow don't even show up on the leaderboard for DH.

Being able to use a prospect completely blocked by a cornerstone like Seager to fix both positions for free in 2025, and to control the C for even longer, has to be appealing.

You're overthinking it because it originated from a troll account

The Diamondbacks are doing this right. Don’t hate that, as they’re my current proximity-based second team.

Why wouldn’t you give him away for nothing. It literally doesn’t matter to this team. He is better served playing for a contender and the Braves are better served playing kids who will help the team next year and beyond
It doesn't serve us him being on a contender. Not unless we get something back which we will never know what went on. People still come to the stadium to see him and he's a good teammate from all reports and we aren't strapped for cash so we don't have to trade him if we weren't gonna get any value back.
