Unless Ozuna just didn't wanna go anywhere else and told them so which I doubt. Iglesias has been pretty terrible so who knows on him

That's what figured. It went above AA's head and they told him not to do anything to keep fans a little interested still with big names. Most fans aren't like us on this board and aren't this passionate.

What a be cop out. Season tickets are sold and the casual fan isn’t showing up because the team sucks. Not because Ozuna and Iggy are gone. Plus the battery is still the battery.

I don't buy this at all. Moving Ozuna and Iggy would have zero impact on fan interest. Ozuna barely plays and Iggy is absolutely awful. That excuse might hold up for Murphy but not for the expiring contracts.
This is AA non-feasance plain and simple.
And the goal would be to increase fan interest moving forward. I don’t buy it either, but a convenient excuse for AA I suppose.

No point in trading Ozuna for Jim Jarvis.
I don’t believe that’s all he could’ve gotten, but there’s no point in trading Ozuna or Iglesias if you’re just going to get zero value anyway.
So the alternative was to salary watch these guys walk for nothing in 2 months?

100%. Not much else to be said that hasn’t been said—but this is a big strike-one for me, given (as I said) the inflection point they’re at as an organization. Strike-two would be failing to replace Snitker competently. Strike-three would be a faceplant this offseason.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised, at this point, if AA signed Marcell to a 1 or 2-year-deal in November even though this franchise does not need a primary DH only especially if you keep Sean Murphy and with Ronald Acuna being injured all of the time.
If you were getting nothing anyway then what’s the point? That’s what AA is saying. No one wanted Iglesias and Ozuna. Again, I find that hard to believe, but if that’s actually true then I get it.
