Dubon!! He may need to stick around here …
He's been using the Hinton Pitching Machine: Invented in 1896-1897 by Princeton mathematics instructor Charles Hinton, the first baseball pitching machine was a, "Mechanical Pitcher" that used gunpowder to propel balls at speeds up to 70 mph. This early, cannon-like device could throw strikes and curveballs but was abandoned due to safety concerns and frightening batters.

This is not the case. Walt mentioned the other day they would play him more at 3B than SS this spring because we need to see more guys at SS then 3B, given Kim's injury. He said they see Gil as a SS for now.
SS is his(Gil) best path forward to the bigs, but he's played 50 games at 3b in the minors...he's even played 1st. Nothing to read about either way. He's not the best SS in the system IMHO....but if that power is real, they'll find a spot.

Elder and Wentz: One of these guys will be the fifth starter, and the other will likely begin the season as either the sixth starter or one of two relievers who have the capability of starting if necessary. Elder has always struggled during Spring Training, so allowing one run through five innings (two starts) is a win. Both of these right-handers will take another step toward the season during Sunday’s game against the Rays.

sucks for Wentz... I was really intrigued by his improved velo and movement. Wanted to see what he could do.. but oh well... I guess it is either Ritchie or DF time... Didier is on the 40 already.. so he might get the nod first.. but JR looks more polished.
