This is not the case. Walt mentioned the other day they would play him more at 3B than SS this spring because we need to see more guys at SS then 3B, given Kim's injury. He said they see Gil as a SS for now.

SS is his(Gil) best path forward to the bigs, but he's played 50 games at 3b in the minors...he's even played 1st. Nothing to read about either way. He's not the best SS in the system IMHO....but if that power is real, they'll find a spot.

Elder has always struggled during Spring Training, so allowing one run through five innings (two starts) is a win.
