4/16: strider is back

This is overkill lol, but he used to do this all the time pre-injury. It’s actually what inflated his ERA—he’d have random innings where he completely lost command. He’d get blown up, then come back and throw five more innings with one hit and 10 Ks. I was hoping he didn't do this as much anymore... but time will tell, I suppose.

Thankfully, he got out of that inning unscathed.
I don't care about command. Throwing 95 is my concern.

He shoulda had the real TJ

It's not the command that's the concern. His fastball is sitting at 95.

But yes putting him in the pen is dumb. Braves need starters. But Strider at 95 isn't a top 5 pitcher in the game.

Maybe the pen is dumb if he weren't gonna be on an inning limit, but he will be. Him at 95 for 5 innings isn't gonna be that valuable imo

His average fastball velocity was 96.3 in 2024... this is who he is, guys. Two starts or not, he hasn't lived 99 in a while.

I said Olson was a dumb move from the beginning. We brought in AIDS (contagious disease), and now the whole team is infected. This run is over. Call it, Doc.

It's almost like they're gonna hit 94.3 hard. Strider is done. If he isn't a dominant closer, he's just a back end guy
