4/16: strider is back

I'll give him a few starts before writing his obituary, but this is certainly frustrating. He threw like 95-97 in his minor-league stint so I don't understand why he's suddenly down to 93.

The issue is that Strider always seemed to struggle when he wasn't 98+.

This was always the risk of extending a guy who was already controlled through most of his 20s with 0 guaranteed money. The Braves used to have the option of dumping him and his salary any time they wanted, now they don't have that option.

Perhaps he's learned how to work with lower velocity, or the velocity will ramp back up over the next few weeks. All we have is hope now, because there's zero flexibility to make any moves with this roster cemented in place.

But it's going to be OK. This was just a brace, so there's no risk he doesn't recover since it wasn't a 2nd TJ.

At least that's what I was assured over and over during the off-season by the medical experts around here.

If this is the new strider, just another X on the AA regime. Strider coulda got the full TJ where velocity returns, but they opted this way.

If this season blows up, AA first, snit second. AA shortened the window with his extensions and ill advised trades

You would have a point if it would have been his first TJ. A second one doesn't come close to seeing the same results.

When did we become a team that sees a 1-run deficit, and you know it's basically over. I'll tell you when - when AA brought in kelenic. He could found a proven cheap guy, but tied up big money in an unproven player that's absolute garbage

Can you quote who said that

Soroka would’ve solved all our problems. Total no brainer to give him $9m. AA fucked up
This would be a lot more effective if Lopez wasn’t done for the year. Elder doesn’t still suck and AJSS has already been sent down. Soroka is dealing with a bicep strain and is much more likely to return than Lopez.

But keep tooting the AA horn. Maybe Murph will hit another homer in a couple weeks and you can come back and say ‘see I was right’.
