5-1-16 Braves at Cubs: Fredi Getting Creative With the Lineup Edition

It would be really perversely awesome if the Braves' current 24-man roster bit them in the ass this afternoon.

The execution of the hit and run in the top of the 10th had the look (if only for a millisecond) of a competent baseball team.

Mallex seems to be learning how to hit at this level.

Pretty encouraging, especially if he can keep it up throughout the remainder of Inciarte's absence. Even if he has to return to AAA for a bit, he'd present a good option if the Braves are ultimately able to flip Markakes at the deadline.

Would nonetheless like to see more base-running decision-making like he just showed, and less like he has most of 2016.

Two of our starters went toe to toe with the best team in the NL only for the pen to blow them. The future really is bright.

Love how wisler and Tehran have pitched. Blair was good in game 1.

I like viz. winthrow is in first yr back. If the surgery gods help us we have Simmons paco and winkler back nxt yr. pen could be fixed.

Struggled early with every primotion. Needs to play. At this point I think mallex should be a goal for the season. Find out if u think he's a starter or a fourth of

Up until mallex reached mlb, he probably was safe on most of those decisions. Mallex will adjust to the better defense in mlb

They played well in both games. Still don't have much of an offense (and given the way things look, they won't all season). I guess it doesn't pay for Teheran to pitch well. One horrible weekend for Jim Johnson.

PS--Cubs have a really nice squad. Great starting line-up and a lot of versatility on the bench plus their bench guys know what the wooden thing they walk up to the plate with is for.
