Just like that, Atlanta could be 2.5 or 3 games out after tonight. That is very telling of the NL East considering Atlanta is two games under and is only 11-17 when not facing Miami.

Start with "the Marlins should just beat teams like the Braves" plus the slobbering over not only Stanton but numerous Marlins players. IMO his commentary has been far from even-handed.

If you want to be a playoff team you have to beat teams under .500. There's nothing wrong with what he said. He's also been very complementary about how competitive the Braves have been this season. I don't know what more you could ask for.

There's a thread in the mainboard asking the question about why MLB doesn't market their stars better. The fans want to talk about Stanton because he's exciting. If you want to appeal to a national market then you have to highlight the best players on the field.
