5/8 at rays

If he has his control issues under somewhat control, Sean Newcomb is actually good. He's going to do what Braves media was always thinking Mike Foltynewicz would do.

I know the rays are not good but I’m impressed with this job vs all theses right handers

To me the thing he has to stop is the non competitive pitches. If he can stop throwing 5 plus pitches that have no shot to be strikes he will be able to be in better counts to get better results.

Enscheff said rays are #2 ops team vs lhp in mlb

As encheff noted the rays have the second most potent offense against left handed pitching.

I agree with this. You are being kind estimating five. Feels like more.

If he could eliminate those noncompetitive pitches, he would likely add an inning per start, and reduce his walks to where Scheffy says they should be.

I think we are getting close to dropping the folty vs newcomb debate

To me they are both likely Jeff Samarja. Good pitchers who flash ace but also implode several times a year.end up a 3 and someone pays as a 2 or1 bc of stuff

I’d still rather have simba. But I’m excited he looks like a legit guy now
