No. But they have played at that level to start the season. Which is the point that I was making in regards to Andrelton but I'm sure that you knew that. Simmons can be a WRC+ 120 hitter and be an MVP candidate with his defense so he can fall off a bit and still be in that class. Again, thanks for playing.

does saying "thanks for playing" make you right in your mind?

markakis for MVP!

It does because I am right. Simmons has played at an MVP level to start 2018. This is a factual statement. It's also a factual statement that if Simmons ever produces a good offensive season he will have also played at an MVP level. The fact he can get MVP votes while being a league average hitter is proof of this.

Anything else you need to be proven wrong on?

Necks playing insanely well. Could be the 2018 version of TP.

TP was 30 in his MVP season. And that was considered flukish. But he did come back and have a similar season the next year.

It would be amazing if Muk could have a similar season at 34.

wait what have i been wrong about
that's actually not a factual statement. it's quite objective.
you're hiding behind the ambiguity of "MVP level season."
i think it's funny that if this were a different player you'd use the unsustainable SSS reasoning to dismiss it.

Dismiss what? I'm not arguing that he will continue hitting like this just that his production to this point has been at an MVP level. And there is no ambiguity behind it. Posting a 7 WAR season is clearly MVP level and Simmons has been producing that type of season to this point. So what exactly are you trying to argue against? I really have no idea and you likely don't either.

1. 7+ WAR does not automatically = MVP-level play. If there's multiple guys putting up 10+ WAR seasons, that is the MVP-level.
2. I won't say anyone is having an "MVP caliber year" a month and a half into the season, for this very reason. Markakis, Pham, Cabrera, and Simmons are not MVP candidates. Simmons has been quite lucky this year - now that's a factual statement.
you wanted to declare simmons an MVP candidate based on a month and half of lucky hitting. my point is, you wouldn't let that fly if it weren't a player you're trying to pimp related to a past trade from a FO you didn't like.

I think you're last sentence is accurate. If thethe came on here declaring markakis (same fWAR as Simmons) an mvp candidate, thewupk would rip into him

Going into any season if you said x player will put up 7+ war then you would agree he is probably in the running for MVP. I bet you there is 7 posts about FF. acuña or Ozzie putting up some huge WAR and being MVP. if someone puts up 11 WAR and wins MVP that still doesn’t make the initial comment false.

Sayin x player is raking and putting mvp numbers early is also true. Now we can debate if guys like Cabrera Simmons. Neck can mqintain. That is another arguement.

1) Find me a season where 7+ WAR is not going to be MVP level. Please.
2) Simmons, like the rest of the guys you mentioned, are having MVP level production so far. That is a fact. Also a fact is that if Simmons ever produces a good year offensively he will be an MVP candidate. Getting MVP votes for merely being league average proves this.

Regarding Simmons being lucky this year. Sure but not as much as you'd expect. He has an xWOBA of 363 compared to his WOBA of 385. MVP level.

There are two different statements going on that Super can't wrap his mind around. 1) I said Simmons is playing at an MVP level. Which he is. Same can be said for Neck or anyone else playing that good right now. 2) Simmons is an MVP candidate if he puts up a good offensive season. That is true as well for obvious reasons.

If thethe or anyone else wants to pimp Neck as a MVP candidate I don't really care. In the unlikely scenario that Neck maintains then he would be an MVP candidate. Simmons is only an MVP candidate if he puts up a good offensive season which he can fall off quite a bit from his current level of play and still reach.

Here's a crazy stat... for as good as Simmons has been, he is 3rd in fWAR among AL SS

1. Lindor 2.2
2. Didi 2.1
3. Simmons 1.8
