6/13/15: GDT - Atlanta Braves @ NY Mets

Besides you not giving Perez hardly any credit in either thread? That is pretty much what it looked like to me. How else can one explain you making out using Perez as worse than using Carpenter instead of Kimbrel in the NLDS, etc?

Again, please go read my very first line in that thread. I am/was in no way discrediting what he has done for us, I just don't think he is a longterm starter at the MLB level with the other options we have.

And I completely 100% respect that, and if you remember you look back at my thread, I said from the very beginning that I wasn't discrediting what Williams has done, I just don't think he can continue to put guys on base and them not score. I hope Perez turns into another solid rotation piece for many years to come, but he scares me.

OK, but Perez went out and gave up no earned runs after you said that leading us to a win. Today you basically showed no faith in him again and he again does the job. I get that he scares you but he's also proved you wrong both times so far. He deserves credit for continuing to do that IMO.

I would have no problem whatsoever using Perez if we had no other options but..

1.) Grilli had only thrown 8 pitches
2.) Still had Cunniff and Aardsma available

Liberty needs to open up that check book and trade for KRod and Broxton. Call up Banuelos to be the second lefty and we got ourselves a serviceable pen.

Maybe they will leave Perez in the bullpen (possibly long relief) and bring up another starter as someone mentioned in an earlier post. Perez seems to have a rubber arm. It wouldn't hurt to have two long relievers on this staff (maybe one RHP & one LHP).

Possibility...but I personally think he needs to be in the rotation. Dude loves to compete and has been big whenever we needed a win (San Fran).

yeah, strange move maybe someone will ask him postgame about Cunniff and AArdsma. This would have been 3 games in a row for AArdsma but not a lot of pitches. Re Grilli I'm sure its the usual stuff about closers not being comfortable pitching more than one inning.

Grilli also rarely goes two innings while Cunniff and Aardsma apparently needed rest.

Girl himself said he was prepared and would welcome the opportunity to enter earlier (in the 8th) and throw multiple innings. I will take my chances on using Grilli multiple innings rather than go to a starter who gives up a lot of baserunners and struggled mighty as a reliever.

Please let me say I am not bashing you or your opinion -you're one of my favorite posters on here- and I respect your opinion. We just disagree on this one topic haha

OK, it's just how you made this move out to be worse than not bringing in Kimbrel in the NLDS. I mean I would've let it go but I thought that was overkill. I am fine that we disagree on the kid Perez though. Further, I am glad you are back posting as you're a favorite poster of mine too. No hard feelings bro.
