7/8 GDT: Atlanta Braves (41-44) vs. Washington Nationals (51-35)

Much better arm/defense than Infante. Tough to tell what he can be at the plate. He's definitely put on size within the past year or so which is helping his power.

Feel like he just knows what he is doing at the plate. So far his bat to ball skill is looking real good.

Bc he got a bloop double with Harper chilling down 8?

I think his ceiling is Omar infante

Camargo has plus defensive potential... Infante was not very good defensively. Camargo has really bulked up and has shown much improved pop and overall offensive skills. He's going to really surprise some people in the long run.

Its different but kind of the same thing with Prado. The Braves LOVED him and especially Cox while most pointed to his minor league numbers and said he would be nothing but a decent util guy. DEVELOPMENT IS NOT ALWAYS LINEAR!

Yeah, Julio's problems this year are mostly control related, not park related. He's not as bad as he's been this year, but he'll have to regain his control in the zone to bounce back close to what he was last year. He has no margin for error with control with his low velocity. Nice to see him have a great start today.

Was good to see him only walking Harper today. The 4-seamer had been 93-96 mph at times. Keep the walks down, keep the velocity up... good things will happen.

For those of you fawning over Johan, please remember that Tapate50 and I were Camargo fans 1 and 1A as he was coming up through the minors. When the 40-man roster discussions were taking place last off-season, some thought the Braves should protect Lien and expose Camargo. Camargo would have been picked up by somebody. I don't know if he will be a long-time everyday player, but he's better than a few starting SSs right now.

I thought Camargo would turn into a poor man's Andres Thomas. Guess I was wrong.

I couldn't remember who were the posters.. but I did remember this. I was wrong. his spring had me hating on Jo-gun.. but I am a believer now.

He still might be Andres with the bat. It's too early to tell. But the kid got solid reviews on his defense when he was in the minors and he played all over the infield. Add to that the fact he's a switch-hitter, and you can see the value. If he turns into a solid hitter, he'll be a useful piece for us or someone else.

I couldn't believe some team with a SS injury didn't snag him from us with a TJ recovery player over the years. He's the best backup SS in baseball. Right now.
