7/8 GDT: Atlanta Braves (41-44) vs. Washington Nationals (51-35)

Roark is also throwing much harder than I thought he could. Strasburg velocity didn't seem to be elevated though... still, wonder how accurate this gun is.

JT with a comfy lead.. only 50 pitches... would love to see him get through 8 shut out innings. See where he is at and go for the CG shutout with the break coming up.

Why do we tend to hit really good pitchers better than we hit really average ones....

We've pretty much always owned Stras for the most part for some reason (outside of a few starts here or there where he blanks us), Gio too. Just one of those weird but nice quirks.

Up 6-0 with 2 out and no one, go right at Harper. Worst he can make it is 6-1. Instead, you put him on to where Zimmerman can homer and make it 6-2.

I never understood this thought process.. the worse he could do is make it 6-1 .. then Zimmer homer can make it 6-2.. so pitch around the lefty you feel less comfortable getting out and go after the guy you know you can. JT is thinking it is 1-0.. he wants the shutout..

Now he's questioning who's fault it is when a pitcher misses his spot and the batter beats a shift.

He couldn't be more clueless. And then he spreads that ignorance to tens of thousands of casual fans.

Then those casual fans come to this board and argue about defensive metrics haha

they are good but very flawed.

Just their bullpen mainly, everywhere else, they're quite good. Not to mention the injuries to Taylor, Turner, Eaton among others.

If they had a stable pen, they'd be arguably NL favorites. Sucks we'd be at .500 if we didnt blow yesterdays game though.
